If a student has an Asthma Action Plan, follow the Individual Student's Action PlanIf a student has an Asthma Action Plan, follow the Individual Student's Action Plan
- Encourage student to take their emergency medication and assist as needed
- If symptoms do not improve or worsen, call 911
- Call parent/guardian
If a student does not have an action plan, follow this standard planIf a student does not have an action plan, follow this standard plan
- Quickly evaluate the situation. Call 911 if the student is in severe distress (unable to speak, blue lips or trouble breathing)
- If the student has asthma medication, encourage the student to use the medication as directed and assist as needed
- Call the parent/guardian
